Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have/be one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant; Nursing student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation; Three months clinical care experience; Graduate of the Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program.
• Read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use hospital systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide both clinical and administrative assistance on the unit
• Perform basic procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients; assisting with ADLs, ambulating patients, making beds, transporting patients, collecting/ labeling/ transporting specimens, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs
• Welcomes and orients patients, family members and significant others to the environment
• Provides administrative support for the unit and staff so the patient care team can concentrate on patient care
• Maintains accurate and complete medical charts for patients, copies and faxes paperwork as necessary to expedite patient care across departments
