Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a Clinical Accounts Manager to support growth across the Northeast, covering Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. This field-based role partners with surgeons and healthcare professionals to drive adoption of spinal technologies.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in OR within medical devices, knowledge of spine products, and strong relationship-building, with travel up to 75% and Newark, NJ area being desirable for airport access.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of Operating Room experience within a medical device sales or clinical support role.
  • Experience with Spine medical devices is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Regional Sales leadership to develop and execute strategic account and clinical engagement plans.
  • Provide clinical support to surgeons and healthcare professionals using the company's spinal technology portfolio.
  • Support onboarding of new surgeon users and customers to ensure adoption and outcomes.
  • Identify and coordinate ongoing training requirements for surgeons, clinical teams, OR personnel and partners.
  • Deliver clinical education and product training to clinicians, sales teams and distribution partners.
  • Collaborate with field-based teams to strengthen surgeon relationships and increase technology utilization.
  • Support the development and execution of educational programmes and training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and federal guidelines.

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing and innovative global medical device organisation specialising in technologies designed to treat cervical and lumbar spinal conditions.

The organisation has an established portfolio of clinically proven, motion-preserving spinal technologies and is continuing to expand its commercial and clinical presence across the United States.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Accounts Manager to support continued growth across the Northeast, covering Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

This is a field-based role responsible for supporting surgeons and healthcare professionals, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes, driving product adoption and increasing utilisation across key accounts.

The successful candidate will ideally be based within the territory, with Newark, New Jersey or the surrounding area being particularly desirable due to accessibility to a major airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Regional Sales leadership to develop and execute strategic account and clinical engagement plans.
  • Provide clinical support to surgeons and healthcare professionals using the company's spinal technology portfolio.
  • Support the onboarding of new surgeon users and customers to ensure successful adoption and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Identify and coordinate ongoing training requirements for surgeons, clinical teams, Operating Room personnel and commercial partners.
  • Deliver clinical education and product training to clinicians, sales teams and distribution partners.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Education and other internal stakeholders to support commercial growth.
  • Collaborate with field-based commercial teams to strengthen surgeon relationships and increase technology utilisation.
  • Support the development and execution of educational programmes and training initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate compliance with healthcare industry regulations and relevant federal guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities and communicate relevant market insights internally.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordination across the organisation.
  • Support the delivery of wider commercial and corporate objectives across the Northeast territory.
Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant practical experience.
  • 3–5 years of Operating Room experience within a medical device sales or clinical support role.
  • Previous experience within Spine medical devices is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the Operating Room environment and surgeon engagement.
  • Experience providing clinical case support and product education.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, compliance requirements and relevant federal guidelines.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Medical Education, Clinical Operations and other commercial teams.
  • Strong organisational and process management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • The ability to adapt effectively within a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
