Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Clinic Services Representative to support OB/GYN patients. You will provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone to schedule and reschedule appointments, assisting families and patients throughout their visit.

This full-time role offers a weekday schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), no weekends or holidays, and opportunities to grow within BJC HealthCare's OB/GYN clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience demonstrating strong customer service skills.
• Proven ability to schedule and coordinate appointments.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient scheduling and rescheduling for OB/GYN appointments.
• Handles in-person and phone inquiries with professional service.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Obstetrics/Gynecology clinic serves women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, the majority of whom come from the St. Louis metropolitan area. Any woman, regardless of age, is eligible to receive care in the OB-BYN Clinic. Patients are seen for routine OB-GYN care including prenatal care, well women exams, and family planning. The OB-GYN Clinic provides outpatient OB-GYN care and nursing care through health promotion, prenatal screening, diagnosis, treatment, and education.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides clerical support in an ambulatory patient care setting encompassing hospital mission, vision and values.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient referral procedure by management of work queues, in baskets and faxes, as well as initiates the pre-authorization process. Runs eligibility in software to confirm insurance coverage.
• Provides clerical support including, but not limited to, scanning documents, preparing charts, managing e-correspondence and general inquiries.
• Schedules and coordinates patient appointments with the department and other areas (radiology, procedure area, other testing) at the time of check out.
• Effectively interacts and communicates with patients and families to assist them and direct them to access available resources such as financial assistance, social work, and more.
