Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Scheduler to coordinate and schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures across multiple facilities. You will help optimize provider schedules, communicate with patients and physicians, and ensure adherence to departmental and insurance requirements.

The role includes handling preauthorization, managing clinic schedules to enhance patient experience and productivity, and triaging incoming calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in a medical or healthcare setting is required.

• Schedules and reschedules patient procedures, tests, surgeries, and exams across multiple facilities.
• Coordinates surgery and procedural schedules with physicians, hospitals, and departments. Ensures room availability; required equipment, and medication are arranged prior to procedures.
• Mentains and leverages strong working relationships with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Adapts to various changes and updates various scheduling systems promptly.
• Informs patients with appointment details including date, time, location, and preparation instructions. Schedules follow-up appointments as directed by physicians.
