Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a part-time Clinic RN to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient Family Medicine and Pediatrics setting. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, with multiple routes of medication administration and collaboration with the healthcare team.

The RN will ensure accurate EMR documentation and patient education, while participating in quality initiatives and maintaining compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa; compact licensure may be acceptable where applicable.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (Windows environment, MS Office).
• Ability to work with diverse groups in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English; communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Completion of specialty classes or additional certifications may be required for some roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient settings using nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Administer medications and treatments safely via multiple routes and document accordingly.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other clinical staff; educate patients and families.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation of assessments, vitals, medications, and education.
• Participate in staff meetings, quality improvement, and performance improvement projects.
