Job summary

MercyCare Prairie Creek Clinic in Cedar Rapids is seeking a part-time RN/LPN/CMA to support patient-centered care. The RN will work with providers to prepare for exams, perform venipuncture, injections and lab collections, and provide patient education during visits, telehealth, and after-visit follow-ups.

This role requires an Iowa RN license and BLS, with prior medical office experience preferred. A sign-on bonus up to $5,000 is available, with a day/evening schedule to fit clinic needs.

Qualifications

• One year medical office experience preferred.
• Education sufficient to obtain required licensure.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Iowa required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
• Certification completed training must be submitted prior to start/date of transfer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, supplies and protective devices for exams.
• Room and prepare patient for examination including reviewing history and vitals.
• Administer injections and collect specimens as per standing orders.
• Provide instructions and education to patients using approved materials.
• Schedule follow-ups and coordinate referrals or testing procedures.
• Handle test/lab result communications and treatment instructions.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures (EKG, Nebulizer) as directed by provider.
• Maintain sample medications per policy and manage inventory.
