Pulse Heart Institute, part of MultiCare, seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator II to support clinical research in human subjects across late phase trials. The role requires independent development and implementation of study procedures in compliance with FDA and sponsor requirements.

The position involves travel between Tacoma and Auburn sites, with Auburn as the primary work location. Bachelor’s degree in a science/health field is preferred; CPR is required and CTMS/EDC experience is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in science, healthcare or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience using electronic data capture software required; CTMS experience.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and continually assesses priorities to ensure projects are executed successfully and within time frames.
  • Follows guidelines for identifying subject populations and collecting data.
  • Retrieves medication under the direction of a licensed health care practitioner and maintains drug accountability records.
  • Prepares for and participates in study monitor visits.
  • Documents visits and procedures for accurate recordkeeping, including accrual and eCRF completion.
  • Identify and report adverse events and protocol deviations.

Position Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator II independently develops and implements research project procedures that meet research objectives and ensure compliance with all aspects of Institution, Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and sponsor regulations pertaining to clinical research in human subjects (e.g. investigator financial disclosure requirements of the FDA).

Responsibilities
  • Develops and continually assesses priorities to ensure that projects are executed successfully and completed within required time frames to meet research objective.
  • Follows guidelines for identifying subject populations, complete forms, questionnaires, and clinic procedures for collecting and summarizing observations and data.
  • Retrieves medication under the direction of a licensed health care practitioner; maintain and monitor drug accountability records.
  • Prepares for and participate in study monitor visits.
  • Documents study visits and procedures in timely way for accurate recordkeeping to include financial accrual, source document and eCRF completion, etc.
  • Identify and report all unanticipated and other adverse/serious adverse events, as well as protocol deviations, violations or exceptions.
  • Modifies procedures for collecting and summarizing data.
Requirements
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred in science, healthcare or other related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience within a healthcare setting serving as a coordinator independently managing late phase drug and device trials.
  • Experience using electronic data capture software required; Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).
  • CPR required.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license
  • Exceptions may be granted for internal candidates with equivalent experience instead of the Bachelor's degree

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $63,232.00 - $91,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
