Job summary

CHI Health Clinic is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI imaging, producing diagnostic images for radiologists to interpret and manage patient care across multiple departments in Omaha. You will assess patient capability, explain procedures, obtain consent, and educate patients while applying radiation safety standards and keeping accurate records.

A focus on image quality, workflow accuracy, and collaboration with physicians and technicians

Qualifications

• Graduate of Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT.
• Basic Life Support - CPR.
• Medical Radiographer: NE.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and explains procedures including duration and expectations.
• Provides patient education as appropriate.
• Obtains patient consent and ensures confidentiality.
• Selects proper equipment, sets factors and protocols while adhering to radiation safety standards (Image Gently/Image Wisely).
• Obtains complete history and records data to assist image interpretation.
• Performs quality assessment of images and escalates equipment issues as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.


• Provides patient education as appropriate.


• Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.


• Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”. Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.


• Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.


• Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated.
