Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Grand Island, Nebraska seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy imaging, ensuring high-quality diagnostic results and a positive patient experience. You will be responsible for patient assessment, education, consent, safety protocols, and accurate data capture for imaging interpretation.

The role requires graduation from a Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, CPR certification, and Nebraska Radiographer licensure

  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.
  • Medical Radiographer: NE, upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patients and explains procedures, including duration and expectations.
  • Provides patient education as appropriate.
  • Obtains patient consent and maintains confidentiality.
  • Selects and prepares equipment, sets protocols, and follows radiation safety standards (Image Gently/Image Wisely).
  • Records patient history to assist image interpretation and future encounters.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.
  • Provides patient education as appropriate.
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
  • Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including “Image Gently” and “Image Wisely”. Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.
  • Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.

Pay Range

$25.42 - $37.82 /hour
