Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to produce diagnostic images across X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound modalities. You will interact with patients to explain procedures, obtain consent, and ensure comfort and safety throughout imaging processes.

The role requires ARRT registration, CPR certification, and IA licensure, with strict adherence to radiation protection standards and quality control of images for radiologist review and diagnosis.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program is required at hire.
• ARRT-registered Radiography technologist is required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required at hire.
• IA radiographer licensure/registration required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic images using X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI modalities.
• Explain procedures, obtain patient consent, and educate patients as appropriate.
• Ensure radiation safety protocols, including lead protection and Image Gently/ Image Wisely guidelines.
• Capture and record accurate patient history and assist with image interpretation and quality checks.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

• Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures. Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including; duration, process, and what to expect following completion.
• Provides patient education as appropriate.
• Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathers proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure. Recognizes all radiation safety standards including "Image Gently" and "Image Wisely". Understands and follows all rules around radiation protection including wearing of lead protection when there is a possibility of exposure.
• Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and/or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters.
• Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated.
