Job summary

Medavie is seeking a Privacy & Data Protection Advisor- Clinics to safeguard personal health information and support privacy across our clinic network, DCM, and health programs. You’ll provide practical guidance to ensure compliant, low-risk patient care and services.

Collaborate with clinical and executive teams to embed privacy in new initiatives, technology deployments, and care delivery models while staying current with regulatory changes and audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in privacy and data protection.
• Experience with health information legislation and privacy regulations.
• Experience investigating and managing privacy incidents, complaints, inquiries, or access requests.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear, persuasive communication and ability to influence decisions.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience developing privacy policies, procedures, or training materials.
• IAPP CIPP/C designation or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert privacy guidance on confidentiality, information access, and data protection.
• Investigate and support resolution of privacy incidents, complaints, and access requests.
• Lead Privacy Impact Assessments and privacy risk assessments for new initiatives or vendors.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify privacy requirements early in planning.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and new care delivery models.
• Review contracts and information-sharing arrangements for privacy compliance.
• Develop privacy training materials and awareness resources.
• Monitor privacy legislation and support compliance across operations.
