Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a Practice Supervisor - Clinical to support the Practice Manager by supervising day-to-day operations at an assigned physician location. You will actively participate in clinic operations about 80% of the time to ensure patient access, flow, and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current MA certification is required and must be maintained.
• AHA BLS certification is required at hire.
• Ambulatory practice experience 1–2 years; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of physician practice operations including access, scheduling, documentation, and charge capture.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision of staff and participate in clinic operations to support patient flow.
• Coach, guide, and support clinical staff in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
• Manage and approve timecards for assigned staff.
• Assist with payroll, scheduling, orientation, and ongoing staff training.
• Monitor budgets and resource use to support cost-effective operations.
• Ensure no open charts or billing delays due to documentation gaps.
• Collaborate with coding, billing, and leadership to optimize reimbursements.
