Job summary

Veterans in Healthcare seeks a Clinic Phlebotomist for BH Women's Clinic-NLR in Little Rock, Arkansas. You will identify patients, collect blood specimens as ordered by a licensed clinician, and ensure accurate labeling with patient identifiers, date and time.

You will deliver specimens promptly to the laboratory, communicate with nurses and lab staff to resolve collection issues, and perform courier rounds, chain-of-custody drug testing, and breath-alcohol testing as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience preferred in clinical settings.
• Ability to communicate professionally with doctors, nurses and staff.
• Must read, write and have basic computer skills; good phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and obtain blood specimens as ordered.
• Ensure specimens are labeled with two identifiers, date, time and ID.
• Deliver specimens to the laboratory promptly and communicate issues.
• Perform courier rounds, chain of custody drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.
