Job summary

Ouachita Valley Family Clinic is seeking a Clinic Phlebotomist to identify patients and collect blood specimens as ordered by a licensed clinician. You will ensure proper labeling with patient identifiers, date and time, and promptly deliver specimens to the laboratory while coordinating with nursing and lab staff.

The role also includes completing courier rounds and performing chain of custody drug testing and breath alcohol testing as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective, professional communication with doctors, nurses, clinical staff, and diverse patients.
• Ability to read, write, and use basic computer skills.
• Understand and practice proper phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and obtain blood specimens as ordered by a licensed health care provider.
• Ensure specimens are properly identified with patient identifiers, date and time.
• Deliver specimens to the laboratory promptly and communicate issues to nursing/lab staff.
• Complete courier rounds, chain of custody drug testing, and breath alcohol testing.
