Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers in Washington State seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in a busy clinical setting. The role requires WA licensure, certification, and experience in a retail/clinic environment.

The technician will handle prescriptions, labels, refill authorizations, insurance billing and customer assistance while adhering to state regulations and Sea Mar policies. Flu vaccination is required for staff.

Qualifications

• English language required; Spanish or other languages encouraged but not required.
• Washington State Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• Certification from the Board of Pharmacy and on-the-job training are important qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Receive prescription from patients and obtain information for profile and insurance billing.
• Enter patient and prescription information and produce a label.
• Answer the phone and record refill authorization information.
• Call medical office to request refill authorization.
• Answer questions on price, product availability, and prescription status.
• Take refill requests by phone or in person and create a refill label.
• Place orders with suppliers for medications and supplies.
• Check in orders and log invoices.
• Return medication to shelf after pharmacist checks prescription.
• Perform cash register transactions.
• Help customers find OTC products.
• Pre-pack and label drugs for future dispensing.
• Fill prescriptions from shelf stock.
• Count and pour from stock bottles.
