Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good math knowledge.
• Some college preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in a health care organization.
• ICD9 and CPT coding (advanced skills) preferred.
• Experience with charge posting or collections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains flow of patient check-in and verifies demographic and insurance information.
• Assists with answering phones and handling patient and staff inquiries.
• Responds to CBO requests for patient account corrections and/or maintenance, in a timely manner.
• Schedules appointments for patients per physician guidelines.
• Collects time-of-service payments and arranges payment plans as needed.
• Verifies and updates information in the medical record.
• Assists front office lead with administrative duties to ensure clean claims.
• Screens visitors and responds to routine information requests.
• Follows CHRISTUS Health HIPAA guidelines and maintains confidentiality.
• Uses clear oral and written communication; supports CHRISTUS Mission.
