Job summary

MercyOne Genesis, part of MercyOne Health System, is hiring a Patient Care Tech in the Moline OB Clinic. You will assist clinicians by rooming patients, taking vitals, collecting health data, and supporting minor procedures to improve patient flow and care quality.

Under supervision, you will maintain clean exam rooms, manage supplies, and document accurately in the electronic health record. This full-time day-shift role offers competitive benefits and growth within the MercyOne system.

Qualifications

• CNA/EMT/MA program completion or enrollment with appropriate certifications.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 6 months of hire.
• Proficient basic computer skills (Windows, email, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs for clinical assessment.
• Collect basic health data and support point-of-care testing.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and proper documentation in EHR.
• Contribute to efficient patient flow and clinic operations.

As a patient care tech at MercyOne, you will provide essential support to physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff by performing delegated clinical and administrative tasks that facilitate patient care and clinic operations. Under direct supervision, the PCT assists with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, collecting basic health data, performing point-of-care testing, and supporting minor procedures. Additionally, the PCT contributes to a safe and organized environment by maintaining exam rooms, managing supplies, and ensuring proper documentation within the electronic health record. This role is integral to enhancing patient flow, experience, and quality of care in alignment with the clinic’s mission, values, and standards of excellence.

Position Title: Patient Care Tech
Department: Moline OB Clinic

Schedule:

• Day Shift - hours range from 7 am - 5:30 pm
• Full Time 1.0 (40 hours a week)
• No Weekends or Holidays

General Requirements:

• Completion of one of the following:75-hour or 120-hour Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, 136-hour certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Accredited Medical Assistant program, Accredited Radiography Technology program (for limited radiography) with valid State of Iowa Limited Radiographer Certification, Currently enrolled in an RN program. Successful completion of first semester of RN program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or Red Cross, live class only), obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training (Child and Dependent Adult Abuse) within 6 months of hire, renewed every 5 years
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office).

• High School diploma/GED
