Job summary

MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center in Davenport, IA, is hiring a Patient Care Tech to support nursing staff under RN supervision. The role focuses on safe, quality patient care and assists with non-patient care tasks.

This full-time, day-shift position (7am-3:30pm, 32 hours/week) includes weekend and holiday rotation and requires no prior experience; BLS training is required, CNA preferred, high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
• CNA certification or healthcare student experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and physicians in patient care and non-patient care tasks.
• Support department housekeeping and supply/equipment maintenance.

As a patient care tech at MercyOne, you will participate in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse through support of standards and philosophies of Genesis Medical Center. Provides assistance to nursing staff and physicians in various patient care and non-patient care activities. Performs tasks in a caring and efficient manner that supports customer service and assists with department related housekeeping, and supply/equipment/facility maintenance tasks.

General Requirements

• No experience required
• Special Training: Basic Life Support
• Training Preferred: previous experience, healthcare student, CNA certification, medical terminology
