Job summary

Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. and Engelhard Medical Center are seeking a compassionate LPN or RN to join a close-knit, nonprofit community health team.

You’ll perform physical assessments, administer medications, support providers, and educate patients in a welcoming coastal NC clinic. Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, NC license or eligibility, at least 1 year of nursing experience, and proficiency with blood draws and dosage calculations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active LPN/RN license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience; clinic or community health experience a plus.
• Proficiency in blood draws and medication dosage calculation.
• A calm, confident presence and the ability to act in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical assessments and collect lab specimens.
• Administer medications and basic treatments as prescribed.
• Support providers with exams, procedures, and clinical tasks.
• Educate patients on wellness practices and clearly communicate physician instructions.
• Ensure safety and compliance with infection control and confidentiality standards.
• Accurately chart assessments, interventions, and test results in Athena (EMR)
