Job summary

Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our mission-driven team on the NC coast. Located at Ocracoke Health Center with other sites in Manteo and Engelhard, we offer weekday hours and a focus on patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes assessments, medication administration, and patient education, with emphasis on safety, infection control, and accurate documentation in Athena EMR. Strong clinical skills and a calm presence are valued here.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience; clinic or community health experience a plus.
• Proficiency in blood draws and medication dosage calculation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical assessments and collect lab specimens.
• Administer medications and basic treatments as prescribed.
• Support providers with exams, procedures, and minor clinical tasks.
• Educate patients on wellness practices and clearly communicate physician instructions.
• Ensure safety and compliance with infection control and confidentiality standards.

Location: Ocracoke, NC | Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

What You’ll Do as an RN

Full-Time Pay and Benefits

• Pay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Time Off: 14 days PTO, up to 5 days wellness leave, and 13 paid holidays

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (with a lunch break 12–1)

Part-Time Pay

• Pay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Schedule: Flexible part-time hours within clinic operating hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm)
