Job summary

Southwest Spine & Pain Center seeks a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Representative for our Vineyard, UT clinic. You will take vitals, prepare exam rooms, assist physicians, and document visits in the EMR system. The role requires patient empathy, accuracy in data handling, and teamwork.

You will also help schedule procedures, counsel patients on treatment plans, and support pre/post operative care as needed. A high school diploma or GED and willingness to obtain BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Positive attitude and teamwork are essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Computer and phone skills are required.
• Willing to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience is needed; medical assistant experience preferred but not required.
• Medical assistant certification is preferred but not required.
• Computer proficiency is required; EMR experience is a plus.
• Scribe training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals on patients as required.
• Obtain and update patient information.
• Assist patients as necessary.
• Give injections and vaccinations.
• Prepare treatment rooms and keep them clean.
• Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Inventory supplies and place orders as needed.
• Organize exam room instruments and equipment.
• Record visit details in EMR.
• Schedule procedures and pre-admission activities.
• Explain procedures, medications, and instructions to patients.
• Arrange lab tests or imaging and coordinate with facilities.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
