Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day clinic operations with emphasis on customer service and teamwork.
  • Supervise clinic staff (technicians, coordinators, patient care reps).
  • Drive performance as shown by metrics and ensure OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
  • Recruit, interview and hire new associates; complete performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with VEI department managers and directors to improve procedures.

Job description

The Virginia Eye Institute is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. We are searching for a clinic manager for our Short Pump location. We are seeking candidates with passion and dedication. If this sounds like you, keep reading!!

The ideal candidate will be a team-player, self-starter, friendly, motivated, organized, and have the ability to work independently while sustaining a team environment. A caring demeanor and the ability to build and maintain patient rapport is critical. The candidate must be highly productive, eager to learn, and motivated to succeed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be responsible managing and directing the day-to-day aspects of the clinic’s operations with an emphasis on superior customer service and teamwork. The clinic manager is accountable for the operational and financial performance of the practice. This position has supervisory responsibilities for the clinic staff (technicians, practice coordinators, patient care representatives, etc.)

  • First point of contact for the clinic team
  • Manage location based associate schedules, adapting to planned and unplanned events, approving associate time in the Dayforce system, and monitoring overtime
  • Responsible for driving performance as demonstrated by metrics
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA requirements
  • Serve as Safety Contact
  • Responsible for office supply management
  • Collaborate with other VEI department managers and directors
  • Ensure the delivery of excellent service by all associates
  • Evaluate and implement operating procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Creates strong working relationships with physicians and associates
  • Complete performance evaluation process for associates
  • Counsel associates in disciplinary matters
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new associates
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related degree or five to seven years’ of ophthalmic practice or hospital administration experience.

Proven leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to build, lead, motivate, and maintain effective teams.

Experience with Allscripts, Dayforce, Medflow, AdvantX, and/or eClinicalworks a plus.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, physicians, management, and co-workers

Ability maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Windows-based software applications (i.e. Word, Excel)

Demonstrates attention to detail
