Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Gadsden County is seeking a Health Support Technician to support clinic operations across Primary Care, FP, immunizations, and STD clinics. The role includes triaging patients, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with referrals and follow-ups under supervision.

You will stock rooms, process specimens, perform rapid tests, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR while maintaining infection-control standards. Training provided for phlebotomy tasks.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Experience with standard medical equipment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist with triaging patients and answering/returning calls.
• Manage intake information and vital signs for review by licensed staff.
• Support RN, APRN, and MD in clinic operations.
• Perform phlebotomy tasks and aid in in-house procedures after training.
• Prepare and stock clinical rooms and maintain inventory.
• Conduct rapid tests (HIV, RPR, Strep, Flu, RSV) and handle specimens.
• Process records and scans into the EHR; assist with referrals/follow-ups.
