Job summary

Horizon Health in Paris, IL seeks RN, LPN and CMA staff to provide compassionate care and support during exams, treatment and discharge processes. You will prepare patients for visits, assist providers, document care, and help maintain a smooth workflow across clinic and hospital settings.

Ideal candidates have nursing education, current BLS certification, and the ability to communicate clearly under pressure, with a focus on patient education and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of nursing process and use of the same.
• Ability to perform complex and varied tasks in a fast-paced work environment subject to stress and interruption.

Responsibilities

• Good rapport with co-workers and medical providers; create a pleasant work environment.
• Prepares patients for exam by healthcare provider and assists as needed.
• Prepares, administers, and orders medication with provider delegation and documents appropriately.
• Completes and documents point of care testing where applicable.
• Shares diagnostic results with provider and discusses as delegated.
• Handles triaged telephone calls to prioritize patient requests.
• Adds patients to schedule and monitors throughput.
• Uses office equipment for communication and coordination of care.
• Maintains office environment and equipment; reports repairs.
• Performs intake of patient visits and captures vitals and history.
• Inventories supplies and communicates needs.
• Communicates with interdisciplinary services regarding patient needs.
• Maintains professional customer service and a caring attitude.
• Obtains specimens and follows handling guidelines.
• Queues orders for authorized sign off and manages test throughputs.
• Assists with prior authorizations with insurance companies.
• Receives and provides patient status reports between care levels.
• Provides front line service recovery and patient education.
