We are seeking an experienced, motivated Physical Therapist / Clinic Director to provide high-quality patient care while leading the day-to-day clinical and operational performance of an outpatient physical therapy clinic.
This position combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, including staff development, clinic operations, patient experience, productivity, referral relationship development, and overall clinic performance. The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist who enjoys treating patients while also mentoring team members and taking ownership of clinic growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized plans of care based on clinical findings, patient goals, and physician recommendations.
- Provide evidence-based physical therapy treatments to improve mobility, strength, function, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and long-term wellness.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with company, payer, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and other members of the care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain compliance with applicable state practice acts, professional standards, and company policies.
Clinic Leadership & Operations
- Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the clinic.
- Supervise, mentor, and support Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, technicians, and administrative staff as applicable.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused clinic culture.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and professional development of clinic team members.
- Monitor clinic scheduling, patient flow, productivity, utilization, and staffing needs.
- Establish and monitor clinic goals and key performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and overall clinic performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, documentation standards, safety requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Partner with regional or organizational leadership regarding clinic performance, staffing, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the applicable state, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current CPR/BLS certification as required.
- Prior outpatient physical therapy experience preferred.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or clinic management experience preferred.
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a clinical team.
- Understanding of clinic operations, productivity, scheduling, and performance metrics.
- Ability to balance patient care responsibilities with administrative and leadership duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist.
- Previous experience as a Clinic Director, Clinical Manager, Lead Physical Therapist, or similar leadership role.
- Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
- Experience developing physician and community referral relationships.
- Board certification or advanced clinical certifications are a plus.
