Job summary

Emory Healthcare is hiring a Medical Assistant to perform patient care and observation under the supervision of a licensed provider. The role includes vital signs, medication administration within policy, simple diagnostics, specimen collection, venipuncture, and maintaining outpatient exam rooms.

Responsibilities also cover patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and administrative support. Candidates must have a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and BLS certification;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• One year work experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification is required for hire and must be maintained.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA required; CMA or RMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and observation duties under licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
• Take vital signs and assist with medications per policy.
• Perform simple diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and maintain examination rooms in outpatient setting.
• Assist with patient check-in/out, scheduling follow-ups, and administrative tasks.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment following Universal Precautions.
