Job summary

Winona Health Clinic in Winona, MN, is seeking a Clinic Assistant for the Spine Center & Urgent Care at Winona Health Specialty Clinics. This 1.0 FTE position supports RN and providers, handles clerical tasks, EMR data entry, scheduling, and coordination of referrals and prior authorizations.

Day shift, typically 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with no weekends or holidays. Starting pay between $17.39 - $21.74 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of customer service, reception, or business experience preferred.
• Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills essential.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a busy environment.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Cerner.

Responsibilities

• Input data into the EMR (Cerner) and manage patient information.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations with other departments.
• Schedule surgeries or diagnostic studies including prior authorizations.
• Ensure nursing supplies and medications are ordered and available.
• Maintain professional telephone etiquette when scheduling appointments.
• Log patient messages and triage information for nursing staff actions.
• Support CSI quality improvement initiatives and perform general office duties.
