Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to deliver stress testing and cardiac rehabilitation services. The role involves assessing patients, selecting testing protocols, and ensuring safety and accuracy in assessments.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and staff, performing both adult and pediatric stress tests, and contributing to documentation and education within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology required; ACSM certification preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or achieved within 6 months of hire.
• 3 months in a hospital setting as an exercise physiologist or in Cardiac Rehab setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients for testing, appropriateness, safety, and protocol.
• Communicate findings with supervising physicians, nurses, and sonographers; coordinate with referring physicians as needed.
• Perform stress testing including treadmill, echocardiograms, metabolic and nuclear tests; pediatric testing where applicable.
• Prepare electronic exam records and ensure accurate data entry for charges.
• Respond to medical emergencies in Stress Testing Labs and assist physicians as needed.
• Educate hospital personnel and students on methods of stress testing and rehabilitation.
