Corewell Health in Watervliet, MI is seeking a clinically oriented Exercise Physiologist to perform cardiopulmonary stress testing, evaluate physiological data, and contribute to implantable device management. The role includes patient education for heart-healthy lifestyles and collaboration with the Cardiology team to coordinate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science or related field.
• Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas: conducting graded exercise testing, knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, risk factor identification/modification; basic electrocardiogram (EKG) knowledge or completion of an internship in Cardiac Rehab.
• CRT-BLS - AHA/ARC 90 Days or within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year; CPR certifications aligned with Preventive Cardiology and Rehab clinics.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and conducts graded exercise testing.
• Monitors patient’s activity, physiological response, and adherence to the exercise sessions.
• Provides specific exercise prescription to individuals based on age, culture and orthopedic considerations.
• May create and update educational materials.
• Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Participates in research projects and on committees/task forces as member, consultant and/or chair.
• May flex to the medical program or surgical program as needed.
