The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader in Ravenel, SC. This on-site role puts you outdoors daily, leading a crew to deliver professional arboricultural care.

You will climb trees, mentor teammates, and manage safety and equipment for diverse jobs. Ideal candidates will have the ability to complete Davey orientation and safety courses on hire, with preferred licenses and ISA/TCIA certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Requires First Aid, CPR and defensive driving training upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Arborist®, ISA Tree Worker®, TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional® certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a climbing arborist crew to provide client arboricultural care.
• Perform climbing using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Oversee jobsite safety, planning, equipment use, and HOPE processes.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees when required.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.

Position Overview

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to our passionate team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors and you get a new view every day!

Job Duties

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to: Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
