Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Trainee in Milwaukee, WI. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll be part of a tree care crew, progressively learning pruning, removal, and safety techniques.

Training includes the Davey Tree Orientation, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving, with licenses supported where required. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cables, bracing, lightning protection, and equipment operation while contributing to client projects across our nationwide

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and become part of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and safely operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, lifts.
