Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Gibsonia, PA, is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our outdoor tree-care team. Your office is the outdoors, and you’ll learn climbing, pruning, and safety skills while supporting a full tree-care crew.

As you progress, you’ll gain hands-on experience with pruning, deadwood removal, cable installation, and hazardous-tree assistance, with industry-leading training and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Learn tree pruning and removal techniques.
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
