The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Trainee in New Berlin, WI. The office is outdoors, and you will join a tree care team to learn climbing, pruning, and removal methods while following industry safety standards.

You’ll receive on-the-job training, safety courses (First Aid, CPR, defensive driving), and potential licenses. This entry-level role offers career growth with a nationwide employer committed to employee development and safety.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and join a tree crew while learning new skills.
• Learn to perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines; prune, thin, and remove deadwood in canopies.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees; operate tools and equipment safely.
