The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee to join our team in West Chicago, IL. The role emphasizes outdoor work with hands-on learning in tree pruning, removal, and safety practices.

You will train to climb, identify trees, and progressively take on higher responsibilities while using tools such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. This is a full-time, permanent position with growth opportunities and industry training.

Formación

• Outdoor enthusiasts preferred
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses if state law requires

Responsabilidades

• Learn to climb trees and perform pruning and removal safely
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while learning new skills
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines
• Prune and remove deadwood throughout the canopy
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection
• Assist in hazardous tree removal
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts)
• Grow your responsibilities as you gain experience
