The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you will gain a new view every day while learning to climb and work on a crew. Learn pruning, removal, and canopy work safely as you progress.

We offer hands-on training, safety gear, and advancement opportunities with starting pay of $20–$23 per hour, plus comprehensive benefits and a focus on safety excellence.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation program upon hire.
• Complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Learn to prune, remove deadwood, and perform canopy work safely.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
