Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our team in Toledo, OH. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll gain hands-on experience learning climbing and pruning techniques while supporting tree-care projects on site.

We offer safety training, progression opportunities, and an employee-owned culture as you develop skills in pruning, removal, and system installations. The role is full-time and on-site with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees as part of the crew.
• Assist in pruning, removal and related tree-care services.
• Learn to safely operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Contribute to tree health assessments and client work.
• Grow skills in installing supports and safety systems.
