The Davey Tree Expert Company in Portland, OR is seeking a dynamic climbing arborist trainee. You’ll learn to climb trees, work with a crew, and perform pruning and removal tasks safely for clients. The role is outdoors and site-based, with opportunities to advance as you gain skills and certifications.

Your office is outdoors and you’ll train through the Davey orientation, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving courses. Expect on-site work with growth across a wide range of tree care projects.

Formación

• Love of the outdoors
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsabilidades

• Learn to climb trees and become part of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills
• Learn to perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients
• Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy; install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and safely operate tools and equipment
