The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee to join our team. Your office is outdoors, and you will learn to climb trees while performing pruning and removal tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferable.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Grow your skills and responsibilities over time.
