Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor team in Baltimore, MD. This on-site permanent full-time role offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus paid in increments and a hourly wage of $30–$42 depending on experience.

You will work with a crew to prune, remove, and care for trees using professional climbing systems. Qualifications include outdoor enthusiasm, forestry/ horticulture background, and completion of Davey orientation and safety courses on hire.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide/licensing as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work as part of a crew with ground staff and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
