Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide licenses and certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and become part of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills.
• Perform tree pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully for clients.
• Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and operate tools safely (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
