Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing Arborist to join our Lake Bluff team. The office is outdoors, and daily views change with the day’s work. Primary duties include tree trimming, removal, and health-focused care performed safely on-site in IL.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey climbing systems as part of pruning and removal work.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood safely and skillfully.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems as needed.
• Operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
