Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoors-based team. You will be responsible for trimming and removing trees, managing health and safety, and working with a crew in various locations.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees, remove diseased limbs to improve health and safety.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground support and crew leader.
• Prune, thinning and removal of deadwood in canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment.
