Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team. Your office is outdoors, offering daily variation and hands-on tree care across locations. You’ll perform pruning, removal, and safety installations while operating climbing systems and heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS).
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood in the canopy; install cables, bracing and lightning protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain/operate tools and equipment.
