Job summary

Russell Landscape’s Tree Division is seeking a motivated Tree Worker – Climbing Arborist Crew Member to join our team. The role emphasizes safety, climbing expertise, and growth in arboriculture.

You will be part of a skilled crew performing pruning, rigging, and removal operations, while adhering to ANSI standards and using proper PPE. A valid driver’s license is required, and CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous tree work and climbing experience preferred; willingness to learn new skills required.
• Strong knowledge of tree care techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understands and adheres to ANSI Z133 and ANSI A300 standards and ISA best management practices.
• Uses all required PPE in accordance with industry standards and company policy and enforces PPE utilization with fellow employees.
• Has tree work and climbing experience but is eager to learn new knowledge and skills.
• Understands and demonstrates safe work practices while performing tree climbing, pruning, rigging, lowering, and removal operations.
• Understands and demonstrates safe work practices while operating wood/brush chippers.
• Proficient in knots for climbing and rigging applications.
• Can execute, demonstrate, and explain proper pruning techniques from ground and aloft.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
