Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a climbing arborist trainee in Englewood, CO. The office is outdoors and you will join a tree care crew, learning to prune, remove, and protect trees while gaining hands-on experience and safety skills.

Position is on-site with potential for advancement, paid time off, and industry-leading training. A strong outdoors interest and relevant background are helpful for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights (preferred).
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred pesticides licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as a member of a tree crew.
• Progressively learn pruning and removal skills for client properties.
• Learn tree identification and pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and operate tools safely.
