Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our on-site team in Denver, CO. Your office is outdoors, and you will learn climbing and arborist duties while growing your skills across pruning, removal, and safety best practices.

You’ll work with a tree crew, operate tools like chainsaws and aerial lifts, and progress toward installing safety systems and hazardous-tree removal.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors with willingness to learn climbing and arborist skills.
• Minimum preferred climbing experience and related forestry/horticulture background.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation and safety training upon hire.
• First Aid/CPR and defensive driving training or certification upon hire.
• Any pesticide licenses required by state law preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb and work as part of a tree crew while developing pruning and removal skills.
• Perform job duties safely with guidance on pruning, removal, and canopy work.
• Operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Assist in installing safety systems and removing hazardous trees.
• Grow capabilities in line with company training and safety standards.
