The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join a safety‑driven greenspace team in Hamden, CT. The role focuses on pruning, removal, and health maintenance of trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.

You will work with a crew and ground support to deliver quality care in a demanding outdoor environment. We value experience outdoors and offer comprehensive training, necessary safety gear, and a pathway for advancement within a large, employee‑owned organization.

Qualificações

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsabilidades

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients; prune/thin/remove deadwood, install cables/bracing, remove hazards, operate chainsaws and chippers.

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
  • Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
  • Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
