Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a utility line clearance climber to perform tree pruning and removal for major electric utilities in Greensboro, NC. Your office is outdoors and you will work with a crew using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.

Responsibilities include pruning, removing limbs, equipment maintenance, and coordinating with ground crew and foreperson. CDL and state certifications may be preferred; travel up to 25% is possible. Competitive benefits are offered.

• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and objects.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
