Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a Research Development Specialist/Senior Specialist to assist faculty across the university, with emphasis on large, collaborative proposals in climate and sustainability research. The role includes grantsmanship, consultations, and project management to support responsive and competitive funding opportunities.

This is a fixed-term, three-year position with potential extension, reporting to the Sr. Director of Research Development in the VPDoR.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in science or engineering or related field required or strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in proposal development and grantsmanship.
• Experience supporting PIs and proposal teams in STEM fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide grantsmanship advice, writing/editing support, and project management to faculty and proposal teams.
• Develop and disseminate proposal resources and templates.
• Teach/workshops on grant writing and team science; disseminate funding opportunities.
• Support early preparation, multidisciplinary connections, and strategic opportunity formation.
• Collaborate with Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and other units to support proposals.
