Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, data analytics, business analytics, economics, accounting, finance, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large data sets in a timely manner while ensuring data quality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to summarize technical information clearly for non-technical audiences.
• Strong interest in sustainability, climate change, environmental data and business responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes IBM's global renewable electricity consumption and GHG emissions using established accounting methodologies across geographies and entities.
• Maintains and supports automation of GHG accounting methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and data quality controls.
• Works with technical and business teams to translate climate reporting requirements into scalable data collection, reporting, and analytics solutions.
• Leverage AI to identify and monitor regulations, disclosure requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to climate reporting and GHG accounting.
• Develops reports, analyses, and management insights to support internal decision-making and external sustainability reporting.
• Maintains processes to regularly measure and report progress against IBM's renewable energy procurement and GHG emissions reduction targets.
• Supports Scope 3 GHG accounting activities, including emissions quantification, data collection, validation, reporting, and performance tracking.
• Supports client and supplier engagement activities related to climate data collection, validation, sustainability reporting, and emissions performance management.
• Supports the integration of climate and sustainability data requirements into enterprise processes, systems, and governance frameworks, to enable consistent, auditable, and scalable data management across IBM.
• Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of Scope 3 GHG accounting through primary data collection initiatives and data quality improvement efforts.
